The Outten Family of Dealerships began December 7, 1979, at the corner of 19th & Tilghman streets in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This was the grand opening of Outten Chevrolet, Inc. Prior to opening his own dealership, Mr. Willie Outten had many years experience as the General Manager of a Chrysler-Plymouth dealership in New Jersey. Mr. Outten also shared brief ownership in a Ford dealership and a MacDonald’s restaurant. In those days, Mr. Outten was the #1 selling Dodge vehicle salesperson on the East Coast of the United States before entering sales management. Mr. Outten was raised in South Carolina and moved to Philadelphia after spending four years with the United States Navy.
In 1990, the Outten Used Car Center, a budget-oriented used vehicle dealership was opened on South 4th St. inAllentown. In addition to standard bank financing, the Outten Used Car Center offers in-house auto loans and has helped hundreds of customers re-establish their positive credit when other lenders refused to help. The Outten Used Car Center is co-owned by Moe Pagni
In 1992, Outten Buick Pontiac of Hamburg, PA was opened. At that time Outten Buick-Pontiac was a small dealership catering to the little town of Hamburg. After acquiring the Chevrolet franchise (and Oldsmobile at the time), Outten Buick-Pontiac-Chevrolet was one of the largest General Motors dealerships in Pennsylvania and consistently won awards for sales and service satisfaction.
In 2004 Mr. Outten and son James Outten added Outten County Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep in Hamburg, PA to the family of dealerships. Outten Chrysler ranks in the top 10 in sales from Mid-Atlantic U.S. Chrysler dealers and top 100 nationwide.
In October 2010, James Outten was proud to open Outten Kia of Hamburg and is very excited to represent such an exciting and fast growing brand of vehicles.
The Outten Dealerships have strong ties to the community and various charitable affairs. During the September 2001 attacks on New York, James Outten, with other team members personally traveled to Ground Zero just days after the tragedy to provide much needed supplies to the Red Cross and NYFD staff. After Hurricane Katrina, the Outten Dealerships led a Convoy of Care to storm stricken Mississippi and Louisiana to provide displaced families with food and building materials. The Outten dealerships regularly donate to local causes as well as programs such as Toys for Tots and the Boy’s Home orphanage in Reading, PA
Today, the Outten Dealerships are owned and operated by Willie and James Outten and both are readily available for questions and/or concerns. Both Mr. Outten and James work hard to recognize mistakes and resolve to build a stronger business for you, our customer.
